Welcome to Mappy

Mappy is an AI-powered map platform with three tools — a Map Editor, Measurement Tool, and Overlay Comparison. Here's how to get up and running.

Create your account
Go to mappy.app/auth.html and sign up with your email and password. Your account gives you access to all three tools and saves your work automatically.

Choose your tool
From your Dashboard, you'll see three tools — Map Editor (draw maps from scratch), Measurement Tool (analyze map images with AI), and Overlay Comparison (compare two images side by side).

Save your work
All tools auto-save every 30 seconds. You can also manually save and give your work a name. Everything appears in your Dashboard so you can come back anytime.

Use the AI Assistant
Every tool has an AI Assistant button. Click it to ask questions about your map, get suggestions, or request measurements. The AI understands context from your current session.
💡 Tip: Start with the Measurement Tool — upload any map image and ask "how long is the main road?" to see Mappy in action.

Drawing tools
Use the left toolbar to select tools. Pen (P) — freehand drawing. Line (L) — straight lines. Zone (Z) — rectangles. Circle (C) — circles. Pin (I) — place named markers. Label (T) — add text. Eraser (E) — remove strokes.

Adding images
Click the image icon in the toolbar to upload a photo onto your canvas. Use the Select tool (S) to move, resize, or crop the image. Click the green "✂ Crop image" button that appears above a selected image to enter crop mode.

Saving your map
Click Save map in the top right, give it a name, and it'll appear in your Dashboard. Maps auto-save every 30 seconds. Press Ctrl+S (or Cmd+S on Mac) to save manually anytime.

Keyboard shortcuts
P=Pen, L=Line, Z=Zone, C=Circle, I=Pin, T=Label, M=Measure, S=Select, E=Eraser. Ctrl+Z to undo. Ctrl+S to save. Arrow keys to nudge selected images 1px (hold Shift for 10px).

📏 Measurement Tool

Upload your map image
Drag and drop or click to upload any map image — Minecraft screenshots, city maps, floor plans, or any image you want to measure.

Set the scale
Choose the map type (game, city, floor plan, etc.) and unit (blocks, meters, feet). For best accuracy, add a known reference — e.g. "the road at the top is 200 blocks long."

Ask your questions
Type natural language questions like "How long is the main road?" or "What is the total area of the city?" Add multiple questions for a full analysis.

Get results and follow up
The AI returns measurements with confidence ratings. Use the follow-up chat to ask more questions about your map without re-uploading.

Upload two images
Upload Image A (base) and Image B (overlay) using the left sidebar. Any images work — maps, photos, diagrams.

Choose your comparison mode
Overlay — drag image B on top of image A with opacity control. Side by side — view both images next to each other. Split slider — drag a divider to reveal each image.

Adjust controls
Use the opacity slider to see through the overlay. Scale slider to resize. Rotation slider to rotate. Six blend modes (Normal, Multiply, Screen, Overlay, Difference, Luminosity) for advanced comparisons.

Export or save
Click Export PNG to download the current view. Click Save comparison to save it to your Dashboard with a thumbnail.

Is Mappy free to use?
Yes! Mappy is free to use with no limits. Create an account and get access to all three tools — Map Editor, Measurement Tool, and Overlay Comparison — completely free. We also offer a Mappy Pro plan for $2.99/month with additional features.
What image formats does Mappy support?
Mappy supports PNG, JPG, JPEG, and WEBP image formats. For best results, use high-resolution images (at least 800×600 pixels). There is currently no file size limit, but very large files (over 20MB) may load slowly.
How accurate are the AI measurements?
AI measurements are estimates based on the map type and context you provide. Accuracy improves significantly when you provide a known reference (e.g. "this road is 200 blocks long"). Each result includes a confidence level — high, medium, or low — so you always know how reliable the answer is.
Are my maps and images saved securely?
Yes. All your data is stored securely in our database using Supabase with Row Level Security enabled — meaning only you can access your own maps, measurements, and comparisons. We never share your data with third parties.
Can I use Mappy on mobile?
Yes! Mappy is designed to work on mobile. The Map Editor has a dedicated bottom toolbar for touch drawing. The Measurement Tool and Overlay Comparison tools are also mobile-friendly. For the best experience, we recommend using a tablet or desktop.
How do I delete my account?
Go to your Dashboard → Settings → Account → Delete account. This will permanently delete your account and all your data. This action cannot be undone. If you need help, email us at supportmappy@gmail.com.
What is Mappy Pro?
Mappy Pro is our premium plan at $2.99/month or $24.99/year. It includes unlimited saves, unlimited AI questions, PNG/PDF/SVG export, dark mode and custom themes, full font picker, a Pro badge, priority support, and early access to new tools. You can upgrade from your Settings page.
The AI isn't giving accurate results — what can I do?
For better results: (1) Make sure to select the correct map type in Step 2. (2) Add a known reference measurement — this dramatically improves accuracy. (3) Be specific with your questions. (4) Use the follow-up chat to refine answers. If issues persist, contact us at supportmappy@gmail.com.
Can I export my maps?
Yes! All tools have an Export PNG button that downloads the current view as a PNG image. Mappy Pro members can also export as PDF and SVG (coming soon).
I found a bug — how do I report it?

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Mappy ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Mappy is an AI-powered map analysis platform that provides three tools: a Map Editor, Measurement Tool, and Overlay Comparison Tool. The Service is provided "as is" and may be updated or changed at any time.

3. Account Registration

To use Mappy, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to access other users' data
  • Reverse engineer or copy the Service
  • Use the Service for commercial resale without permission

5. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you upload to Mappy (maps, images). By uploading content, you grant Mappy a limited license to store and process it solely to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership of your content.

6. AI-Generated Results

Measurements and analysis provided by Mappy's AI are estimates only. Mappy makes no warranty regarding the accuracy of AI-generated measurements. Do not rely on Mappy measurements for safety-critical or professional applications without independent verification.

7. Pro Subscription

Mappy Pro is a paid subscription at $2.99/month or $24.99/year. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your Settings page. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact supportmappy@gmail.com.

8. Limitation of Liability

Mappy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the Service, including but not limited to data loss, inaccurate measurements, or service interruptions.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of significant changes via email.

Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Mappy:

  • Account info: Email address, name, and password (encrypted)
  • Content: Maps, images, and measurements you create or upload
  • Usage data: How you interact with the Service (anonymised)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the Mappy Service
  • Save and sync your work across devices
  • Send account-related emails (e.g. password reset)
  • Respond to support requests

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with Row Level Security. Only you can access your own data. Images are stored as encrypted base64 strings in your account database.

4. Third-Party Services

Mappy uses the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — database and authentication
  • Groq AI — AI text processing
  • Vercel — hosting
  • Google Fonts — typography

These services have their own privacy policies. We do not sell your data to any third party.

5. Cookies

Mappy uses minimal cookies solely for authentication (keeping you logged in). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at supportmappy@gmail.com.

8. Children's Privacy

Mappy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy
